Yui Rio was a female student who attended Akademi High School in Yandere Simulator. Before she was reintroduced in 1980s Mode, she lived in Ayano's timeline.
She was first removed on August 18th, 2018, but as of October 10th, 2021 the Rainbow girls and boys were reimplemented in Ryoba's timeline as characters in 1980s Mode.
Appearance[]
Yui has medium length, scarlet red hair. Some of it is tied into small ponytail on the right side, while the rest falls freely to her shoulders. Her eyes are also red. She wears the original uniform unless customized by the player, along with red knee-high socks and panties. Her bust size is 0.5, and she has the serious eye type.
In builds between October 19th, 2019 and June 17th, 2021, Yui could be seen in Buraza town, wearing short-sleeved white button-up shirt over her school uniform's skirt. She wore her iconic red thigh-high stockings.
Before she was first removed on August 18th, 2018, Yui also wore a red friendship bracelet around her right wrist.
Personality[]
As of May 15th, 2022, Yui has the "Spiteful" persona. If she witnesses murder of a student who has a low reputation or a student who is bullying her, she will compliment Yandere-chan on her crime and run away from the school grounds in order to not be considered an accomplice.
She is also mischievous and doesn't seem to respect other's personal boundaries, as seen in Druelbozo's official render of the Rainbow 6 girls, where Yui is shown trying to grab Yuna Hina's rear, while Yuna is visibly uncomfortable. As well, she was shown stealing Mei Mio's glasses in a second reference image. YandereDev imagines that she didn't often openly express how she felt on the inside. Only a violent, bloody incident like a murder or a corpse caused her true nature to show for a moment. She chose to hang out with the popular crowd and join a club because she sees it as a form of "protection."
Previously, Yui had the "Loner" persona. If she saw a corpse or witnessed a murder, she would've run away from the school and called the police.
Previously, Yui had the "Evil" persona. She would react to murder with enthusiasm instead of terror. She would then proceed to run home, but will still refuse to talk to the player the next day. This persona was removed and changed to the Spiteful persona, which Yui had for the rest of her days until she was removed on August 18th, 2018.
Routine[]
As of October 10th, 2021, Yui functions as a character in 1980s Mode. At 7:00 AM, she changes her shoes at 7:00 AM, then hangs out in the school plaza with Kaguya and the rest of the Rainbow 6 girls. She goes to class in Classroom 2-2.
At 1:00 PM, she, along with her friend group heads to the rooftop to eat lunch. She heads back to class at 1:22 PM.
At 3:30 PM, Yui participates in cleaning time from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM, where she heads to her locker, changes her shoes, and heads home.
Trivia[]
- Yui's hairstyle before the February 8th, 2016 Build was changed because YandereDev thought that her previous hairstyle was "low budget" and "amateurish".
- As of October 17th, 2019, all of the Rainbow 6 girls, except for Saki, can be seen walking around the town.
- Back when she was in game, she held the record for the girl with the smallest bust size (at 0.5). Due to Yui being removed, Shiromi Torayoshi now holds the record, instead (at 0.75).
- Her name, Yui Rio, is a referenced to the first and second most popular Japanese girl names of 2012.
- She was removed in the August 18th, 2018 build.
- She returned in the October 10th, 2021 build as a character in the 1980s mode.
- She was the first character (other than the protagonist) to be ever implemented.
- Her male counterpart is Haruto Yuto.
