Info[]

Ryoba Aishi is the mother of Ayano Aishi, and the wife of Jokichi Yudasei. She is deeply obsessed with her husband.

She was also a female student attending Akademi High in 1989, as well as the protagonist of 1980s Mode.

Appearance[]

Present[]

Ryoba is a middle-aged woman who has short elbow length hair. Her eyes are also grey. She wears a purple T-Shirt and apron with skinny jeans and slippers. In her illustration, she is wearing lipstick.

1989[]

In 1980s Mode, Ryoba was a young woman, aged 18. She kept the same hairstyle as she does in present day. She wore the original uniform unless customized by the player. When insane, her sweet and gentle face becomes very disturbing, with shrunk pupils and a creepy smile.

When in the town, she wore a white collared shirt with a grey striped skirt and suspenders. She also wore white knee-high socks and pink sandals. Now, she wears a purple, floral dress.

Personality[]

Just like her daughter, Ryoba is a yandere, yet she is more "dere" than her daughter, meaning that she presents herself as sweeter and has more emotion in her voice. She is manipulative, cunning and two-faced. She used these skills to eliminate any girl who showed interest in Jokichi and to win the court case.

Now, she lives a modest life and is a private woman. No one knows a lot about her other than that she's cheerful, sweet and easy to get along with.

Relationships[]

Ayano Aishi[]

Ayano is Ryoba's daughter. Throughout her childhood, Ayano has exhibited symptoms what appears to be emotionlessness that YandereDev calls the "Aishi Condition". Ryoba was not at all worried for Ayano, while her husband was. Ryoba seems to love her daughter.

Jokichi Yudasei[]

Ryoba is devoted to Jokichi, but he probably does not truly love her in return because of her true nature. She kidnapped him and kept him in her basement against his will.

Sumire Saitozaki[]

Sumire was Ryoba's first victim. She killed her in April of 1989 in the third floor girls' bathroom.

The Journalist[]

The Journalist and Ryoba are on bad terms. The Journalist disliked her and was devoted to holding her accountable for the murder of Sumire Saitozaki. In the end, Ryoba won the court case by lying. Soon after, Ryoba follows the Journalist to America, presumably to hunt him down and get revenge because of what he did back in 1989.

The Yakuza[]

She can access the Yakuza through his younger brother, Togo Atatsuma after completing his task. Similar to Ayano and Info-chan, Ryoba and the Yakuza have a client-provider relationship. The Yakuza can provide with different services such as abduction, contraband, and ransom. The contraband consists of a lockpick, fake id (which allows the player/Ryoba to buy alcohol and cigarettes), narcotics, lethal poison, and an explosive device.

Trivia[]

  • Ryoba was fully implemented as the protagonist of 1980s Mode on October 10th, 2021.
  • Her name is derived from "Ryōbo" (寮母), which is a Japanese word for "Matron." It was changed to Ryoba to sound more feminine.
  • Ryoba seemed to have passed down her pajamas to her daughter, as they both share the same pajama model. She also wears the same clothes in the asylum as Ayano does at the Stalker's house.
  • The reason she wears purple is because it's her husband's favorite color.
