Yui Rio was one of the female students who attended Akademi High School in Yandere Simulator. She was removed on August 18th, 2018 and was reimplemented on October 10th, 2021 as a character in the 1980s mode.

Appearance

Yui Rio has deep red hair styled in a short side ponytail on the right. Her flaming red hair and aggressive spikes are a metaphor for her spiteful personality. Her eyes are bright red. She wears the default uniform unless customized by the player, along with red thigh-high stockings and matching panties. Her bust size is 0.5. She wears a red friendship bracelet around her right wrist.

Although Yui was removed from the game, the player can still see her walking around the town as a civilian, along with the other Rainbow 3 that were removed. She can be seen wearing a white short sleeve button-up shirt, along with her uniform skirt. She still wears her iconic red stockings, but not her friendship bracelet.

Personality

Yui is Spiteful. She will make look annoyed at the player before covering her face if a camera is pointed at her. If she witnesses murder of a student who has a low reputation or a student who is bullying her, she will compliment Yandere-chan on her crime and run away from the school grounds in order to not be considered an accomplice.

Formerly, Yui had the "Evil" persona. She would react to murder with enthusiasm instead of terror. She would then proceed to run home, but still refuse to talk to the player the next day, as "they shouldn't be seen talking with each other." This was removed due to YandereDev thinking the Evil persona was "a get-out-of-jail-free card." She had the Spiteful persona for the rest of her days until she was removed on August 18th, 2018.

Trivia

• Yui's hairstyle before the February 8th, 2016 Build was changed because YandereDev thought that her previous hairstyle was "low budget" and "amateurish".
• As of October 17th, 2019, all of the Rainbow 6 girls, except for Saki, can be seen walking around the town.
• Back when she was in game, she held the record for the girl with the smallest bust size (at 0.5). Due to Yui being removed, Shiromi Torayoshi now holds the record, instead (at 0.75).
• Her name, Yui Rio, is a referenced to the first and second most popular Japanese girl names of 2012.
• She was removed in the August 18th, 2018 build.
• She returned in the October 10th, 2021 build as a character in the 1980s mode.
• She was the first character (other than the protagonist) ever implemented.
• Her male counterpart is Haruto Yuto.
